Join us at the sanctuary for an engaging, eye-opening class on the ethical care of backyard chickens, where you’ll discover that these birds are far more than egg-layers. Learn how to provide a safe, enriching environment that supports their natural behaviors, from dust bathing and foraging to forming complex social bonds.
We’ll also explore the surprising intelligence of chickens-their ability to problem solve, communicate with distinct vocalizations, and even recognize individual faces. Through real-life stories from our rescued residents, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of who chickens are, not just how to care for them.
Whether you’re a current chicken keeper or just curious, this class offers practical guidance and a fresh perspective rooted in compassion.

Barnyard Big Screen Featuring Animal Farm
Settle in for an unforgettable evening under the stars at KSRR! Bring your own chair and throw, and get cozy as we screen the new movie, Animal Farm, surrounded by the very animals this story echoes. Enjoy a sanctuary tour followed by a relaxed, outdoor movie experience on the farm, where fiction meets real-life-rescue, and every animal has a different ending. Cost includes theater style refreshments. This is a mostly adult recommended film, recommended for kids over 11 years of age. Wear farm appropriate attire, this is a rain or shine event!
Cash Cow Bingo-Halloween Style
Join us for an afternoon of laugher, lucky numbers, and big wins with CASH prizes ranging from $100-$500, a celebrity host, and delicious food for sale! It’s the perfect way to celebrate spooky season, and to raise funds for the care of the animals! Costumes are welcomed but not required, come ready to shout BINGO! And do good things for the animals.

Goatoberfest Cash Bash
Kindred Spirits Rescue Ranch presents their third annual ‘GOATOBERFEST’ Cash Bash and Fundraiser on Saturday, October 14, 2022! 100% of the proceeds will benefit the animal sanctuary, which rescues, shelters, and cares for abused and abandoned farm animals, including cows, sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, horses, pigs, and more.
Event Activities will Include:
Visits with our goats and other rescue animals
Oktoberfest-themed food (all plant-based)
Fire pits and s’mores (plant-based)
Cash bar with mulled wine, beer, and cider
Live acoustic music by Lori and Jeff
Welcome speech and silent auction at 6:00PM
Raffles and 50/50s throughout the day
The event will be held at Zassick Park, 50 Zassick Rd., Sewickley, PA from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
